What this service is
A trained Healkin nurse carries out nasogastric (Ryle's) tube feeding at home, delivering prescribed feed safely through an existing NG tube.
Who needs this
People with an existing Ryle's/NG tube who need feeds or medication given through it, often those unable to eat normally due to illness, surgery or swallowing difficulty. Always based on medical advice.
What to expect during the visit
The nurse confirms tube position and patency, gives the prescribed feed at the correct rate, keeps the setup clean, and advises on positioning and hygiene. Family members can be shown safe feeding basics if helpful.
